Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is one of the largest Universities in Greece covering all disciplines and it is a leading education and research institution in Southeastern Europe. The Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the most renowned departments in the field of Engineering. One of the main objectives of the Department is the provision of high-quality education in one of the broadest and dynamically evolving sciences. To date 223 PhDs have been elaborated in the Department. The main research activities of the participating members are focused on the discovery of novel biologically active natural compounds from plants, technological exploitation of natural products, pharmaceutical technology, drug delivery systems, study of polymeric systems for biopharmaceutical applications, self-organization phenomena in soft matter, static, dynamic and thermodynamic properties of polymeric materials, polymer-inorganic hybrid materials, molecular simulation, and white biotechnology.
