The third Bio2Brain Summer School took place online from 10 to 14 June 2024 and offered both scientific and soft-skill training for all 13 ESRs.
The two-day “Introduction to AI-driven Antibody Design” session provided an overview of AI in drug discovery. Prof. Michele Vendruscolo introduced neural networks and deep learning, followed by talks on applications like deep docking and sequence-based drug discovery using transformers. The second day featured presentations on molecular dynamics simulations and AI-driven material design. The third day focused on soft skills, including training on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patent processes, and scientific writing. The sessions, organized by Prof. Vendruscolo and supported by Bio2Brain MSCA-ITN, highlighted AI’s transformative impact on research fields. On the final day of the summer school, all ESRs presented their scientific progress and received feedback from the group.
We thank the UCAM team for organizing this insightful summer school!
