During the period from May 22nd till June 2nd I had the pleasure of visiting the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS) in Florence, Italy. I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Martino Calamai and ESR7 Marta Rojas and had an introduction and hands-on experience to very interesting imaging techniques, such as Single Molecule Tracking, Confocal Microscopy, and Light Sheet Microscopy. As part of our collaboration within the consortium, I brought my own antibody to LENS and we aimed to visualize its interaction with various Fc receptors, in addition to visualizing the trafficking and internalization of overly expressed Fc receptors using quantum dots and single molecule tracking techniques.

Apart from laboratory work, I was very happy to visit Florence which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It was great to experience the culture and the rich heritage of Tuscany and of course the Italian food.
